Meeting Urban Health Needs Through Innovative Research, Policies and Interventions
The research component is organized into four substantive areas which are Urbanization and Wellbeing; Population Dynamics and Reproductive Health; Health Challenges and Systems; and Education. Policy Engagement and Communication seek to bridge the gap between research and policy, and facilitate the translation of research into policy and practice. APHRC contributes to strengthening institutional and professional research capacity through scientific and methodological seminars to enhance the skills of African scholars; providing opportunities for continuing education of African scholars through postdoctoral and sabbatical fellowships; research traineeship and internship programs; scholar exchange programs; and working with universities to strengthen graduate research programs in the region.
